SKRZYCZNE

Skrzyczne is the highest peak of the Beskid Mountains, at a height of 1,257 m. It rises in the north-eastern part of the Silesian Beskid Mountains, an offshoot of the Barania Góra range. The characteristic silhouette of the summit is recognisable not only in Szczyrk but also across the country, making it special for several reasons.

Skrzyczne is foremostly a true paradise for skiers, who enjoy the great conditions for various winter activities. The slopes of Skrzyczne have over 10 kilometres of various ski trails of the Central Sports Centre – The Centre for the Preparations of Olympic Games in Szczyrk (Centralny Ośrodek Sportu – Ośrodek Przygotowań Olimpijskich w Szczyrku), including a route approved by FIS. Its black and red trails are equipped with a snow system. A fully comfortable use of the ski activities is guaranteed by a modern 4-person chair lift with a capacity of 2,400 people per hour, running through the entire section from the lower station in Szczyrk, through Jaworzyna, to the summit of Skrzyczne.

Skrzyczne, however, is accessible and interesting at any time of the year. This place is visited by over 200 thousand people in the summer, who are appreciating the tourist values of the area around the largest peak in the Beskid Mountains. Many popular tourist routes run through and meet here. A lot of people wandering the trails use the mountain shelter located on Skrzyczne - it is open year-round.
